    We regret to advise of the death of Willem Frederik “Bill” Cornax on 27 December 2018 at his home in Kirkland QC at the age of 93 years.

    Bill was born and grew up in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. During his teenage years, he experienced the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands the last year of which he survived the hardships of forced labour in Germany. Following World War II Bill served in the Royal Netherlands Military Police and the Royal Netherlands Air Force.  In 1953, Bill moved his family to Montreal QC. Bill joined the Canadian Army (Militia) and served in the Royal Canadian Engineers.

    In 1977, Bill moved to Florida where he took a job as Assistant Director of Purchasing in a medical centre. He retired in 1991 and returned to Montreal.

    In spring 2019, a commemorative celebration of Bill's life took place with immediate family and friends.  Donations in memory of Bill to NOVA West Island and to the West Island Palliative Care Residence would be much appreciated. {dcMar20WD} [ zcc]
