On 9 June 2025, Linda Newton, a retired CME officer, made a presentation to the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Royal Engineers in London.  The event marked the 50^th anniversary of the first meeting of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Royal Engineers. The theme was 'crucial moments in recent history where the military and civilian engineering professions have come together to solve notable challenges'.
