We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Donald Evans Goddard (Ret’d) of Berwick NB at the Sussex Health Center on 3 June 2012 at the age of 88 years.

Don was born in and raised Berwick. He was a Royal Canadian Engineer veteran of the Second World War who served from April 1942 until May 1947 in England, France and the Low Countries. 

Don was a retired foreman for Maritime Gardeners.  In retirement, he enjoyed making and refinishing furniture. He was quite involved in community activities, was an elder of the Wesley United Church, a member of Branch #76 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Norton NB and was a member of the Berwick Seniors.

Visitation will be at the Wallace Funeral Home in Sussex on Tuesday 5 June from 2 – 4:00 PM and from 7- 9:00 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Norton Branch #76 will hold a tribute on Tuesday evening at 6:45 PM. A Celebration of Don's life will be held at Wesley United Church on Wednesday, 6 June at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Wesley United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
