Sgt Joseph L. Forest, CD (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Joseph L. Forest, CD (Ret’d) at the Veterans' Health Centre in Moncton NB on 12 April 2021 at age 98 after a short illness.
Joseph was born in Cap-Pelé NB. He was a Royal Canadian Engineer veteran of the Second World War. He participated in Operation OVERLORD, the invasion of Europe, in June 1944 and supported the Allied advance through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and into Germany. After the war, he transferred to the Permanent Force and served 25 years with the Royal Canadian Engineers before retiring at the rank of Sergeant. For his second career, Joseph was employed with different Federal Government departments across Canada including Nunavut and Northwest Territories. He retired to Cap-Pelé.
Public visitation will be held at the 16 Sainte-Thérèse d'Avila funeral salon in Cap-Pelé, on Friday, 16 April from 7:00 to 9;00 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #91, will have a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church in Cap-Pelé on Saturday, 17 April 2021 at 10:30 am for a maximum of 200 people.
