The Bank of Canada has decided to put a new face on the five-dollar bill and are accepting recommendations for great Canadians worthy of consideration.
There are many great Canadians worthy of consideration including Sergeant Tommy Prince—a great Indigenous Canadian who embodies duty, courage, bravery, and patriotism.
Many of our members will know that one of the most distinguished soldiers in the 1st Special Service Force was Sgt. Tommy Prince. What you may not know is that Sgt. Prince joined the R.C.E in 1940 as a Sapper. He served in England with the 1st Canadian Corps Field Park Company before volunteering for the 2nd Canadian Parachute Battalion. He returned to Canada and was later selected for the ‘Devil’s Brigade’.
If you agree with this nomination, you can help by going to HONOUR SERGEANT TOMMY PRINCE and add your name to the growing list.
