A part of the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus is to maintain the military status quo in order to prevent a recurrence of fighting and set the conditions for political progress. One of my tasks is to monitor the overall status and activity of military forces around the buffer zone.

These pictures are from a recent patrol with UK colleagues to verify the condition and manning of opposing forces positions. It is an honour to represent Canada in one of our longest running overseas missions and to work shoulder to shoulder with our allies.
