Michael Charles Major

    We regret to advise of the death of Michael Charles Major in New Westminster BC peacefully on 19 May 2009 at the age of 89.

    Michael was born near Gimli MB but at an early age moved to New Westminster.  He was a WWII veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Engineers and saw action with 6 Field Company during the D-Day Landings and throughout North West Europe.

    Michael lived most of his life in New Westminster.   He worked for 50 years with MacMillan Bloedel, New Westminster Division, and retired in 1985 in the position of Director of Plant Safety.

    A Memorial Service will be held at Whalley Presbyterian Church, 104th Avenue, Surrey BC on 13 June.  A reception will follow in the church lower hall.  Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC, 828 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver BC or the BC Cancer Society, 600 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. {gdJun2016kh}
