    Après plus de 33 ans de service loyal et dévoué aux Forces armées canadiennes et à la Branche du Génie militaire canadien, le LCol John Timmermans, CD, (00181) a pris sa retraite en février 2025. Une réception de départ dans la dignité aura lieu le 12 avril comme suit:

    LCol John Timmermans joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1991, graduating from the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Kingston in 1995. Following completion of Army Engineer training in 1996 he served in 2 Combat Engineer Regiment and Base Construction Engineering at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa.

    He has been employed in project management, joint, operational, strategic planning in national and multinational Head Quarters. He has served on multiple deployed operations in both sub-unit command and staff positions in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as Afghanistan.

    On promotion to his current rank, he served as the Deputy Branch Head of the Force Protection Branch at NATO Joint Force Command HeadQuarters Brunssum in Brunssum, Netherlands. He is currently serving as the J5 Director of Plans for the Canadian Forces Cyber Command.

    He holds and undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

    LCol Timmermans is married and lives with his wife in Ottawa.
