We regret to advise of the death of John Edward Howard of Dorval, QC at the Centre d'Hébergement et de Soins de Longue Durée in Lachine, QC on 21 November 2019 at age 88.
John was born in Digby, NS. During WWII the family moved to Halifax where he studied Civil Engineering at the Nova Scotia Technical College (Dalhousie). Summers were spent in the Canadian Officer Training Corps program that included summer training at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack, BC. John moved to Montreal in 1965 and became a member of the Professional Engineers of Quebec. One of the major projects he worked on was the Champlain Bridge. He eventually went on to work independently and completed a number of projects for SNC Lavalin. Though he resided in Montreal a long time, John's heart belonged to The Maritimes.
The funeral service will be held at Rideau Memorial Gardens on Sources Blvd on Thursday, 28 November 2019 at 11:00 am. Visitation starts at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens on Donegani in Pointe-Claire (border of Beaconsfield). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Voice of the Martyrs (https://www.vomcanada.com)
