Mark your calendars, as each month Kingston Engineers (serving, retired and friends thereof) will gather at a special little social event known as our Beverage and Bites, (aka BnB) at the Portsmouth Tavern, 98 Yonge St, Kingston. The CMEA recently acquired two copies of the book Detour: The Story of Oflag IVC, signed by the editor, Lt J.E.R. Wood, MC from Mr John Campbell of Winnipeg. The books will be donated to the Canadian Military Engineers Museum in Gagetown. During the war, John Campbell's father worked for the Canadian Red Cross in London where he was deeply involved in the repatriation of Canadian PoWs at the end of the war. C’est cet automne qu’une touche finale a été portée aux travaux entrepris en 2012, afin de doter le sentier du mont Brillant d’infrastructures permettant son ascension sécuritaire. Un imposant escalier, une création originale des membres du 5e Régiment du génie de combat (5 RGC), permet dorénavant aux gens d’atteindre avec aisance le sommet de ce mont dont le sentier atteint une distance de 1,3 kilomètre.
