This is a brief story of the Coral Harbour Hook, a presentation trophy made by Sapper officers who served in the Canadian Airborne Regiment (CAR). In July 1977, 1 AB Fd Sqn was removed from the order of battle of the CAR. The Regiment moved from Griesbach Barracks in Edmonton to Petawawa. Bill Black looks at list of Royal Canadian Navy personnel who lost their lives in Korea. Three were killed in action by enemy gunfire, four were lost overboard and two died in an air crash. The Monument to Canadian Fallen in Canada’s capital of Ottawa was cast in Korea shortly after the original monument which stands in Busan was cast by artist Yu Young Mun.
On 20 October 2014, WO Patrice Vincent was targeted in a lone wolf terror hit-and-run attack in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Two days later, Cpl Nathan Cirillo was gunned down while on guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. In both cases, the murderer was an ISIS sympathizer.
