The CMEA website has been publishing Last Post entries for Fallen Engineers for quite some time. These entries acknowledge the service, military and civilian, each of these people made over their lives. We create a Last Post entry whenever we learn a comrade has fallen. We try to record deaths back to the origins of the CMEA in 2000. This information is archived by the CME Museum in a databank of personality profiles each and every Engineer deserves to have preserved.
In 2015, we realised there were many Engineers whose deaths had not been reported to us and, consequently, none of these had an appropriate Last Post tribute. To remedy this situation, a small group of volunteers launched an aggressive research project, No Sapper Can Be Forgotten , to discover passings that have to-date, been unreported.
Last Posts are published as they are completed, regardless of when the person died. As a consequence, many go unnoticed as our listings are in date order. To assist in ensuring the entries for old soldiers, many distinguished veterans of the Second World War and leaders in civilian life, are not overlooked, we will post a short list of Last Post entries separately in the CMEA Newsbrief based on the date they were published. We hope you find this useful and will take some time to take a look.
The following Last Posts were published in the past two weeks.
