Cpl Chantal enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on 5 October 2010 with the 5th Communications Regiment in Québec City (QC) as a Primary Reserve member.
Early in his career, he completed several Class B service periods at the Valcartier Training Centre and 35 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters, contributing to operational support and training activities. In 2012, he was tasked to the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE) in Kingston, Ontario, where he continued his professional development.
In 2013, he participated in a short-term international tasking at Fort Pickett, Virginia, and subsequently continued serving in various support roles within Québec-based units. In 2014, he was transferred to the 6th Communications Regiment, where he remained actively engaged in training and support missions.
Between 2016 and 2017, Cpl Chantal served with the 5th Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters and Signal Squadron in Valcartier and was later employed as a Signaller on Class B service. In 2019, he was posted to CFB Bagotville (QC), where he served as a Refrigeration and Mechanical Technician, supporting critical infrastructure and operational effectiveness until 2023.
Throughout his career, Cpl Chantal distinguished himself through professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to mission success. His service reflects a strong and lasting contribution to operational support and the Communications and Engineering community. Cpl Chantal was honourably released on 17 March 2026.
