We regret to advise of the death of Master Corporal Alphonse Deguire, CD (Ret’d) in Germany at the Lahr Hospital on 2 August 2019 at age 74. Alphonse served a full career as a Combat Engineer serving in the field units in  Camp Gagetown NB, Valcartier QC and several times in Germany as well as with Airfield Damage Repair (ADR)in Lahr GE. 

After his tour with ADR Alphonse  got a job as an inspector within Base Construction Engineering and took his release from the Canadian Forces. He retired in Germany and was active in his Lahr community and the Royal Canadian Legion where he was Past President of Benson & Harper Branch No. 2 in Lahr.  

Cremation has taken place and Alphonse's ashes will be interred on 16 August 2019 at 3:15 pm during a memorial service at the Bergfriedhof  Cemetery in Lahr, Germany. The family requests that guests be limited to members of his local Royal Canadian Legion Lahr Branch.
