We regret to advise of the death of Captain Robin Allen Moorhead, CD (Ret’d) of Calgary AB, on 5 December 2023 at the Colonel Belcher Care Centre in Calgary at the age of 82 years.

Robin was born in Daysland AB.  He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1961 and, after his basic sapper training at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack, BC, his first posting was to 2 Field Squadron in Camp Gagetown, NB. From there, Robin had two consecutive tours with 4 Field Squadron in Germany (1963-1966 and 1967 – 1970)

Ron then transferred to the Reserve Force and served with 8 Field Engineer Regiment in  Edmonton (1981 – 1992). He finished his service in Edmonton as the Northern Albert Militia District CWO. After that, he relocated to Calgary and was, shortly thereafter, commissioned as a Captain. Robin then served as an officer with 33 Field Engineer Squadron in Calgary (1992 – 1996).

In civilian life, Robin had a planning degree and worked as a planner with the Yellowhead Regional Planning Commission.
