    We regret to advise of the death of serving member Captain Bruno Moreau, CD on 2 October 2025. Captain Moreau was the Construction Engineering Officer of the Air Expeditionary Training Squadron of 2 Wing Bagotville QC.

    Bruno enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in July 2012 as a  Combat Engineering officer at the Royal Military College. He transferred to Construction Engineering during his studies and graduated from RMC in 2017.

    Bruno’s first posting was to 3rd  Material Support Squadron in Bagottville QC where he deployed on Operation  CADENCE in May 2018 for the G7 Summit in Charlevoix QC. The next summer, he was transferred to the Air Expeditionary Training Squadron (AETS) in 2 Wing and deployed to Romania on Operation REASSURANCE from July 2020 to January 2021.

    After Bruno returned from Operation REASSURANCE, he was posted to 3 Wing in Bagotville, where he held several positions, including Officer Commanding Construction Engineering, Fire Chief, and Contracting Officer for the Real Property Operations Detachment. He redeployed to Latvia on Operation REASSURANCE from September 2023 to February  2024 as a project manager for the new Canadian camp at the Ceri Military Base in Latvia. Bruno returned to Bagotville but back with 2 Wing in the Air Expeditionary Training Squadron as Construction Engineering Officer, a position he held until his passing. 

    A time to offer condolences is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 19 October 2025, followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. at the chapel of Canadian Forces Base Bagotville {Bldg B-114, at the corner of Chemin des Aviateurs and Ottawa Street in Alouette QC}. Military personnel attending are requested to wear DEU 1A.

    In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a fund or charitable organization close to Bruno’s heart, such as: La Relance Jeunes et Familles in Montréal.
