    We regret to advise of the death of Andrew McLeod “Andy” Bell at the Clarion Nursing Home on 13 October 2010 in Stoney Creek ON in his 98th year.

    Andy was born in Unity SK and was a veteran of the Second World War.  He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers In 1943 when he was 30, following three of his brothers who were serving in the Air Force.  Andy was sent to Petawawa, ON for training and served in Italy and Northwest Europe with the Royal Canadian Engineers supporting the 5th Canadian Armoured Division.  His brother Angus was shot down and killed over the Irish Sea in 1943. After the war Andy remained in Holland until January 1946 engaged in reconstruction projects .

    Andy was a retired employee of Heckett Engineering in Hamilton ON.

    Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home in Stoney Creek on 15 October. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on 16 October at 9:30 AM.
