Lee Goodman

In 1993, after three years of working in the construction industry in Toronto, Lee Goodman enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a direct entry Military Engineer (MILE) officer. Following military engineering training at Canadian Forces Base Chilliwack, her first posting was to the Construction Engineering Section at Garrison Edmonton in 1996 as the Plans Officer during the consolidation of Canadian Army units arriving from the former bases at Calgary and Chilliwack.

With a military career spanning three decades, Lee worked primarily within the field of real property management, supporting the institutional and operational infrastructure of six different Level 1 Commands and Groups within the CAF and the Department of National Defence. Operational highlights include deploying with 1 Construction Engineering Unit’s Works and Design Company as part of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo in 1999, and staff taskings in support of Op ATHENA and Op PROTEUS. Lee's key command and staff assignments include Senior Instructor of Construction Engineering and Management Squadron at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering, Joint Engineer Operational Support at Canadian Joint Operations Command, and Canadian Forces Fire Marshal. From 2020 to 2023, as her final posting, Lee was Director of Land Infrastructure at Canadian Army Headquarters in Ottawa.

Lee is a graduate of Queen’s University at Kingston (B.Sc. (Civil Engineering)), as well as the Royal Military College of Canada (Master of Defence Studies). She is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario (since 1993) and currently works for Defence Construction Canada.

Lee retired from the CAF in 2023 at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. She now resides in Rideau Lakes Township and enjoys small town life and RVing. A long-time supporter and advocate for the Canadian Military Engineers Association (CMEA) at the local (chapter) level, Lee is pleased to be joining the CMEA National Executive Committee in 2025.
