We regret to advise of the death of Corporal Robert Norman “Bob” Burke of Nanaimo, BC on 19 0ctober 2019 at the age of 87. Bob was a Korean War veteran
Bob was born and raised in Grand Falls, NL and left Newfoundland in 1951 after joining the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Engineers. During his 25-year career with the RCE he dployed to Korea in 1954 with 3 Field Squadron and served in Germany and across Canada. Bob settled in Nanaimo, BC after he retired from the military and enjoyed a second career working for the City of Nanaimo until he fully retired in 1992.
There will be a Celebration of Bob's life at First Memorial Funeral Services 1720 Bowen Rd., Nanaimo, on Saturday, 2 November 2019 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or charity of your choice in Bob's memory would be greatly appreciated.
