In January 2016, 1 ESU was tasked with the design and implementation of a 110 personnel camp in support of Op IMPACT 2.0 in Erbil, Iraq. The camp in Erbil was needed to support a tactical aviation squadron as well as Joint Task Force Support Component (JTFSC) and Joint Task Force-Iraq (JTF-I) command elements. 14 Construction Engineering Squadron (CES) attended Deployment for Training (DFT) in Fort Indiantown Gap, PA (FTIG) on 12-26 May, 2016. The squadron sent equal representation from each of its four CE Reserve flights - 91 CEF Gander, 143 CEF Lunenburg, 144 CEF Pictou, 192 CEF Aldergrove – to conduct training at FTIG. During two weeks in September 2016, members of 38 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) constructed a Pedestrian Suspension Bridge across the Moose Jaw River completing the Trans Canada Trail through Saskatchewan.
