Engineers Complete Try Outs for Invictus Games

Twelve serving and retired Military Engineers gathered in Kingston, ON last week for a Training Camp for "Team Canada" for the upcoming Invictus Games in Toronto September 23 to 30 of this year. Thirteen have been selected for Team Canada.

The Invictus Games will use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding of and respect for those who serve their country, and their loved ones. The Toronto event will include more than 550 ill, injured and wounded servicemen and women from 17 allied nations compete in 12 adaptive sports.

The Engineer athletes selected for team Canada are:

  • MCpl Carson MacIsaac (Ret’d), Combat Engineer
  • Cpl Bruce Matthews (Ret’d), Combat Engineer
  • Pte Jason Maves (Ret’d), RM Technician
  • Cpl Dwayne Thorpe (Ret’d), Combat Engineer
  • Cpl Will Werth (Ret’d), Combat Engineer
  • Sgt Kristopher Vaughan, Construction Tech
