It did not take long before the exceptional work accomplished by Mrs. Jaqueline Perrin-Comeau, of the DIEC Team, on the day of the tragic events, October 22nd, was recognized by the entire IE Team at 66 Slater in Ottawa.
Indeed, on November 5th, MGen Chris Whitecross, COS(IE), in the presence of Mr. Jaime Pitfield, ADM(IE), presented Jacquie with a Certificate of Recognition and a gift coupon from iBoutique. "Her implication and her unwavering concern for the all her colleagues during the confinement did not go unnoticed" said MGen Whitecross. "I was outside the country when it happened, but within minutes after my return, I was hearing about the extraordinary work done by Jacqueline", added General Whitecross.
The citation on her Certificate reads as follows:
"In recognition of your outstanding actions during the tragic events of 22 Oct. Throughout the day, you worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel was paramount. On top of this, she was extremely adept in keeping the ADM informed of the situation as it transpired. Her professionalism and dedication was observed right to the end of the day. As the last person to leave, she confirmed all employees had departed and the floors were secure before departing."
Congratulations Jacquie! Let us hope that neither you nor any of us will ever have to go through such circumstances again!
