The CMEA recently acquired two copies of the book Detour: The Story of Oflag IVC, signed by the editor, Lt J.E.R. Wood, MC from Mr John Campbell of Winnipeg. The books will be donated to the Canadian Military Engineers Museum in Gagetown. During the war, John Campbell's father worked for the Canadian Red Cross in London where he was deeply involved in the repatriation of Canadian PoWs at the end of the war. L’Adsum a visité les nouvelles installations du 35e Régiment du génie de combat (35 RGC), d’une superficie de 4005 mètres carrés, le 26 octobre. Après une année et demie de travail, les travaux débutés en 2016 sont essentiellement terminés.

C’est cet automne qu’une touche finale a été portée aux travaux entrepris en 2012, afin de doter le sentier du mont Brillant d’infrastructures permettant son ascension sécuritaire. Un imposant escalier, une création originale des membres du 5e Régiment du génie de combat (5 RGC), permet dorénavant aux gens d’atteindre avec aisance le sommet de ce mont dont le sentier atteint une distance de 1,3 kilomètre.

31 Combat Engineer Regiment is based in Waterloo and St. Thomas. They will begin the preparations to take down the bridge on Monday, 12 March 2018. The bridge will then be dismantled and removed over the course of the weekend next. It is planned to recycle the bridge for use in training.
