Firefighter Receives CJOC Coin

Sgt Tremblay was awarded a CJOC Coin recently for his response to a fire in Camp Canada in Kuwait. The citation reads: Sgt Tremblay – Task Force Fire Marshal, Op IMPACT Throughout the night of 09 November until 14 November 2022, Sgt Tremblay displayed excellent technical and leadership abilities while dealing with a fire and the aftermath in the accommodation building. Sapper Brian Collier Honoured on Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign

Sapper Brian Collier was killed in Afghanistan while serving with 2 CER on 20 July 2010. Bradford's hometown hero was honoured last week at the Highway of Heroes tree-planting event in Whitby, Ontario.  Seven years ago the Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign, a national charity, set out with a goal to plant two million trees to honour every Canadian who served in the country’s Armed Forces and the 117,000 who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Indigenous Veterans' Week - 107th Pioneer Battalion

While exact statistics are difficult to determine, the rate of Indigenous participation in Canada's military efforts over the years has been impressive. These determined volunteers were often forced to overcome many challenges to serve in uniform, from learning a new language and adapting to cultural differences.
