From 2007 to 2014 Mr. Holmes demonstrated extraordinary and sustained commitment to research and documentation of the history of the Canadian Military Engineers. Since his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, he tirelessly researched, authored and edited the History of the Canadian Military Engineers Volumes III and IV and was the driving force behind the production of the Canadian Military Engineers Book of Remembrance commemorating one hundred and sixty Military Engineers who died during military service since 1947. Mr. Holmes’ ongoing commitment to the preservation of military history has done a great service to the Canadian Armed Forces.
