Chronicles from Vedder – Part 5 Hinterland Unlocked

Published March 5, 2024

At the end of Chronicle 4, I stated that there were a lot of topics, beyond fishing, that might interest members of the Corps that had served or trained at the Home Station in Vedder Crossing. So, again, this chronicle may seem more of a tourist travel log than a historical meandering of things RCE, but I hope that I hit a couple of memory buttons. That is, herein there may be items of interest to those planning to visit the Greater Chilliwack Area (GCA) or mayhaps move “back to the Wack”. Certainly, no place is perfect; Chilliwack being no exception with some homeless concerns, congestion annoyances, fishing outlaws and redneck truckers, but the Greater Chilliwack Area (GCA) remains Rainbow Country (as we knew it). It is exceptionally pleasant in the surrounding hinterland, and the getaways to the impossibly gorgeous do not require a cruise ship or airplane. As well, you already know that half your olde posse is already out here in B.C. somewhere. So troopers, “Saddles”…15 minutes notice to move!
