WO P Keeping, CD

    WO Keeping will retire from the CF on the 27 Jan 12 after 24 years of loyal and dedicated service to both Canada and the Canadian Forces.

    WO Keeping enrolled in the Canadian Forces as a 011 crewman in St. John’s Newfoundland in 1985. On completion of basic training in Cornwallis, NS he was then posted CFB Calgary, AB where he completed his QL3 training.

    WO Keeping released from the military in 1989 and then re-enlisted after a three year absence back into the Armoured Corp and was posted to the Royal Canadian Armoured School where he spent the next seven years.

    In 1997 Cpl Keeping re-mustered into the 647 WSPOL Tech trade completing his trades training in Chilliwack, BC and was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake, AB spending 5 years working out of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Cpl Keeping was promoted to MCpl and then completed a tour to CFS Alert.

    WO Keeping was posted to Gander, NF in January 2003 as the WFE I/C.

    WO Keeping was promoted to Sgt and posted to 1 ESU Moncton in 2004. Sgt Keeping spent 4 years at 1 ESU completing tours to Bosnia, Kabul, Kandahar and Sudan.

    WO Keeping was promoted to his current rank and posted to 3 ASG Engineer Branch as the Utilities Officer in 2008 and remained in this position until he retired 27 Jan 2012.

    WO Keeping will be retiring to the Fredericton Area. He has two children Cameron and Candice who will be remaining in the area as well.

    A DWD will be held in his honour, the function will take place on the 13 Jan 12 at the WO and Sgts mess A4 at CFB Gagetown from 11:30-14:30 Hrs. Dress will be dress of the day. Returns to Tina Broomfield at local 2542 or email at Tina.Broomfield@forces.gc.ca.
