Sgt Richard Galbraith, CD

    Sgt Richard (Rich) Galbraith will retire from the CF on 28 Oct 2011 after 20 plus years of loyal and dedicated service.

    Rich enrolled into the Canadian Armed Forces in Vancouver on 12 Jul 1990 and was shipped off to Nova Scotia for Basic Recruit Training at CFB Cornwallis. Upon completion of basic training, he was off to the RCR Battle School in Petawawa before being posted to 1 RCR in London Ont.

    Rich completed two tours in Bosnia and one tour in Croatia with the RCR’s. In between his tours, Rich joined the Airborne Regiment until its disbandment. He released from the CF in Aug of 2000 and after testing the waters on civilian street he rejoined in Oct 2001, this time as a Firefighter. Upon completion of his TQ 3 in Borden, Rich was posted to Edmonton. After two plus years in Edmonton Rich was posted to Esquimalt to Fleet Augmentation where he served on several different ships. Rich returned to Edmonton in July 2007 where he was employed as a Crew Chief before being task to JTF Afghanistan with the Royal 22 Regiment. While on deployment Rich was promoted to his current rank and severed Edmonton very well in the DPC and PC positions.

    Sgt Richard Galbraith and his spouse Jenifer will remain in the Edm area where he has accepted a position with Dow Chemical. A retirement celebration will be planned; date and location TBA.
