Sgt Cary Weimer, CD

    1. SGT CARY WEIMER WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CF 0N 5 APR 09 AFTER 21 PLUS YRS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. SGT WEIMER ENROLLED IN THE CF ON 14 JAN 1988 AS A FIRE FIGHTER. UPON COMPLETION OF HIS QL3 HE WAS POSTED TO HIS FIRST OPERATIONAL FIRE HALL IN CFB MOOSE JAW SASKATCHEWAN. IN 1992, HE WAS POSTED TO GERMANY WHERE HE UNDOUBTEDLY ENJOYED THE BEER AND BROTH WORTH AMONG OTHER THINGS. UPON HIS RETURN ON GOOD SOLID CANADIAN SOIL IN 1994, HIS COUNTRY CALLED UPON HIM TO SERVE HIS NATION WITH THE NAVY ON THE HMCS CALGARY WHERE HE REMAINED FOR 3 YRS. AFTER COMPLETING HIS SEA TIME, CARY WAS POSTED TO CFB EDMONTON IN 1997 WHERE HE MET HIS WONDERFUL WIFE TO BE NICOLA. THEY WERE MARRIED IN EDMONTON WHERE THEY REMAINED UNTIL 2003 AND THEN POSTED TO THE FIRE ACADEMY IN CFB BORDEN AS AN INSTRUCTOR. HIS LAST POSTING BROUGHT HIM TO WONDERFUL SUNNY BC, BACK IN AN OPERATIONAL FIRE HALL AT CFB COMOX IN 2007 WHERE HE SERVED THE REST OF HIS CAREER. AS WELL SGT WEIMER WAS DEPLOYED FOR A 6-MTH TOUR WITH THE NAVY PATROLLING THE SHORES OF FORMER YUGOSLAVIA

    2. CARY AND NICOLA PLAN TO SETTLE IN ALBERTA WHERE HE WILL BE STARTING HIS NEW CAREER AS AN INSTRUCTOR FOR LAKELAND COLLEGE FIRE SCHOOL. HE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO ENJOYING MORE TIME WITH HIS WIFE AND START AN ADDITION TO THE FAMILY
