    CWO Hank Etheridge will be retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces on the 5 August 2016, after 27+ years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada, and the CAF.

    CWO Etheridge was born in Fredericton and raised in McAdam NB, he joined the CF in 1988 as a Field Artilleryman. Upon completion of Basic Recruit Training in Cornwallis NS and Field Artillerymen Battle School in Shilo Manitoba, he was posted to CFB Gagetown with “W” Battery. In 1992, he re mustered to the Construction Engineers (CE) as an Electrical Generating Systems (EGS) Tech and was posted to CFB Chilliwack BC.

    Remustered to the Engineers and after completion of Qualification Level 3 (QL3) EGS Tech in Chilliwack BC, CWO Etheridge was posted in the summer of 1992 to 8 Wing Trenton. He completed a tour of CFS Alert in 1993 and two Deployments for Training Purposes to Savannah Georgia and Buffalo NY with 8 Wing Trenton Airfield Engineering Squadron (AES) in 1994/95. A posting to CFB Halifax in 1996 with the Naval Construction Team, where he completed a tour of Haiti and deployed to the 1998 Ontario Ice Storm. In 1998 he was posted to Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME), Combat Training Center (CTC) Gagetown, as an instructor.

    A promotion to Sgt in 2000 came with a posting to Ottawa, followed by a return posting to 8 Wing Trenton in 2002. Promoted to Warrant Officer in 2003, he received a posting to 86 Airfield Support Unit, mobile repair team, as the EGS Supervisor where in 2004, he completed a tour of Op Athena under ISAF. Promoted to MWO in 2006, he was posted back to CFB Halifax. In 2008 he was posted to 5 Wing Goose Bay as the Wing Chief Warrant Officer. August 2010 saw him promoted to CWO and posted to 14 Wing Greenwood as the CE UCWO, then in 2011 he was appointed as the 14 Wing Logistics and Engineering Branch CWO. CWO Etheridge was posted to 16 Wing after completing a yearlong Second Language Course. CWO Etheridge and his wife Tanya have 4 children; Taylor, Jordan, Tanner and Jayden.

    CWO Etheridge’s release date will be the 5th of August, 2016. His Depart with Dignity ceremony will be held at Juno Beach Mess, CFB Borden on 2nd of Aug, 2016, from 13:30 until 16:00.
