    Chief Warrant Officer Hodge enrolled in the Canadian Forces Primary Reserve, in his hometown of Trail, British Columbia, as a Field Engineer in 1977 at 44 Field Engineer Squadron. CWO Hodge transferred to the Regular Army as a Field Engineer in 1982 posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment.

    CWO Hodge completed, Combat Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course and all Trades Qualifying Combat Engineer Courses. He is also qualified Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Paratrooper, Pathfinder, and many others. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 55. He instructed at the Canadian Forces Recruit School, at the Advanced Training Company, Western Area Training Center Battle School and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He proudly served in 1, 2 and 4 Combat Engineer Regiments and the Canadian Airborne Regiment.

    CWO Hodge has held the following key positions, Section Commander, Troop Reconnaissance Sergeant, Troop Warrant Officer, Regimental Training Warrant Officer, Detachment Sergeant Major, 12 Field Squadron Sergeant Major, 18 Administration Squadron Sergeant Major and Faculty Advisor, USASMA. CWO Hodge was the Regimental Sergeant Major, 2 Combat Engineer Regiment from 2006 to 2008. CWO Hodge was appointed 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Sergeant Major on 26 June 2008.

    CWO Hodge deployed to Germany, Cyprus, Israel/Syria, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan as a Squadron Sergeant Major during Operation Apollo.

    CWO Hodge has numerous decorations, medals and awards, the most significant of which are appointed as a Member of the Order of Military Merit, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, with Afghanistan Bar, the Commander in Chief Commendation and the US Army Bronze Star.

    CWO Hodge is a Certified Engineer Technician registered with the New Brunswick Society of Engineering Technicians and Technologist. In 2009, he completed his Bachelor of Military Arts and Science Degree from the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.

    CWO Hodge has accepted employment with Sturgeon County as the Senior Engineer Officer and is looking forward to transitioning to his second career. CWO Hodge has two children, Nicholas and Kristin and plans to reside in St Albert, Alberta.
