Cpl Ashley Raymond was born in Hull, Quebec, in 1991 and she joined the CAF in Victoria, BC, as a Combat Engineer on 2 October 2014.
After basic training in St-Jean, QC, she proceeded with Combat Engineer DP1 training at CFSME at CFB Gagetown, NB. Upon graduating in November 2015, Cpl Raymond was posted to 1 CER at CFB Edmonton as a section member of 1 Troop (Rats), 11 Field Squadron. In July 2016, as part of the annual re-org, Cpl Raymond left 11 Fd Sqn and occupied a position as an EOD section member in the CIED Troop, 15 Support Sqn. While employed within the CIED Troop, Cpl Raymond deployed on OP LENTUS providing assistance with the fires in BC in the summer of 2017. In April 2018, she completed the Combat Engineer DP2 at CFSME. In March 2019, Cpl Raymond completed the IEDD Operator Assistant Course at CFSME and, following that, she served as a Det 2I/C in CIED Troop. From April through November 2021, before her release, Cpl Raymond was placed as a helper for RHQ OPS within the 1 CER RHQ. Ashley will be remaining in the Edmonton area while returning to school to receive a post-secondary education.
