After more than 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, WO Warren Reid, CD (00339), will retire on 10 January 2025. WO Warren Reid enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer in January 2000. Upon completing basic training in Saint Jean, Quebec, and the TQ3 Combat Engineer Course in Gagetown, New Brunswick, he was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (2 CER) in Petawawa..
During his time at 2 CER, he occupied the positions of Equipment operator, MT Rep, and OC driver. He participated in 3 deployments: OP Palladium in Bosnia in 2003, OP Renaissance in Sri Lanka in 2005 and OP ATHENA in Afghanistan in 2006. WO Reid also took part in 1 domestic operation, Op Lentis in Chalk River, Deep River (Microburst). WO Reid also completed his Heavy Equipment Course in 2003 at CFSME.
In 2007 WO Reid was posted to Range Control at CFB p as a Heavy equipment instructor. In 2012 WO Reid completed his Soils Analyses course in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri USA.
WO Reid was posted to 4 ESR where was employed as the Heavy Equipment Sect. Commander and Recce Sgt. As the HET Recce Sgt. WO Reid was deployed to Nepal in May of 2015. WO Reid was promoted to WO in July 2016 and became the RHQ SQMS from 2016 to 2017. TP WO for 42 FD. Sqn. HET. From 2017 to 2018. He was then posted to the RPOU Det Gagetown in 2018 as the SM, and then to Preventive Maintenance Officer.
in July 2022. WO Reid was posted to CFB St. John’s NL as the Ops WO.
WO Reid has been happily married for 33 years to his wife, Kim Reid and they are very proud of their two children Shannon and Leo.
