    WO Sheldon Hawe, CD, will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on the 4th of July 2018 after 22+ years of dedicated service to the CAF and the CME Branch. Congratulatory messages or anecdotes can be sent to WO Dale Hickey by the 22nd of June 2018  dale.hickey@forces.gc.ca.

    WO Sheldon Hawe joined the Canadian Military Engineer family as a Primary Reserve in St. John`s, Newfoundland, in December 1995. He served in 56 Field Engineer Squadron for 3 years. February 98 WO Hawe transfer from the reserves to his first posting at 4 Engineer Support regiment. He has participated on several overseas as part of 4 ESR. He deployed to Africa on OP ECLIPSE in 2000, Afghanistan on OP Athena 2003 and OP Plateau 2005. He was posted to Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering 2010, WO Hawe was employed in various roles from a DP 1 instructor, Cadre Section Commander and a Heavy Equipment Instructor. Again 4 ESR came calling and WO Hawe was post back to fulfill positions as a Sect comd, OPS NCO and Recce Sgt. WO Hawe again deployed in 2013 on OP Renaissance Philippines. After a 4 year stint with 4 ESR it was back to CFSME to become again a HY EQPT INSTR, STDS Rep, Roads Cell Instr and finally the HE Cell Sup.

    WO Hawe was promoted to rank of Sgt 2008 and achieved the rank of Warrant Officer 2015. WO Hawe received a CDS Commanders commendation for his actions in Africa in 2000 after a mine strike hit a Sect vehicle he and other Sappers cleared the vehicle route for mines to allow safe passage.

    WO Hawe is married to Lori Shannon who has stood by his side since 2004; he has 2 Step Children, Colby and Josie. WO Hawe plans on sticking around the local area and hunting from his Camp. WO Hawe will be releasing from the CAF July 4, 2018 after 22 plus years’ service.
