    After more than 26 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, WO Mike Pépin, CD(00339), will retire on 07 Jan 2025.     WO Mike Pepin was born in Victoria BC but was raised on both coasts due to being in a military family. WO Pepin enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a reservist with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in September 1998 during his final year of high school. He then component transferred to the Reg force in February of 2001, completed his DP1 at CFSME and was posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) Edmonton.

    While there he deployed to various domestic operations as well as Bosnia (2002/2003) Kabul (2004/2005) and Kandahar (2008). In 2009 WO Pepin was promoted to MCpl and posted to CFSME where he spent most of his
    time as a heavy equipment and Plan and Ops instructor. He was promoted to Sgt in 2012.

    WO Pepin was posted to 4 ESR in 2014 and was employed as a Heavy equipment section commander and Sqn Ops NCO. While in 4ESR he deployed to Ukraine as part of the Op Unifier Theatre Activation Team in 2015. He was promoted to WO and posted back to CFSME in 2018 where he was employed as an instructor in the Road’s cell.

    WO Pepin was posted to 4 ESR in 2020 where he filled various positions: heavy equipment Tp WO, SQMS, Sqn Ops WO in addition to acting SSM 42 SQN. He was posted back to CFSME once again in 2023 as the Heavy equipment TP WO.

    Mike, along with his wife Melissa and two children Kendra and Collin will be remaining in the area for the time being.
