WO Boilard joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988 in Québec city at the age of 18. He completed basic training in St-Jean Québec and then went to Borden for second language training, driver course and graduated from Canadian Forces Fire Academy. Once he completed the TQ3 Firefighter course he received his first posting in CFB Edmonton in 1989. Later in 1994, he got shipped out to Halifax on HMCS Fraser which he decommission, after he went to FMG to find himself as a carpenter with a small group of CE. After, he went on a 6 month deployment on the HMCS Preserver, he liked that ship so much that he decided to stay with that ship’s company until 1997. Then, he moved to 3 wing Bagotville and he remain there until 2001 and then went to 14 Wing Geenwood were he was promoted to MCpl and became a fire inspector. In January of 2004, he left Greenwood and was transferred to Bagotville as a Fire Inspector. Following that he got promoted to Sgt and went to Camp Mirage on a 6 month deployment in 2005. He came back and became The Chief fire Inspector for a short time, after a short period of time he was back on crew where he got promoted to WO in 2008.
Jean, well known as JJ also, has decided to leave the Reg Force in Jun 09 and is staying in the Saguenay region. He will be transferring to the reserve force and will become a part of the Group of the Fire prevention team.
