    We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer John William Forsyth Hall, CD (Ret’d) peacefully at home on 9 December 2002 in Calabogie, ON at the age of 76 years.

    John was born in Quebec City, QC.  He served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve as an Able Seaman from 1944 - 1946.  In October 1951 he re-enlisted and served in the Korean War with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry as a rifleman.  In 1954 John transferred to the Army Survey Establishment for training as a topographic surveyor.  He served on several field parties: Eskimo Lakes, NT; Dease Lake, BC; and Fort Churchill, MB.  He served on loan to Canadian International Development Agency as a survey instructor in Nigeria as well as an exchange posting to the United Kingdom from 1968 - 1971. John retired in July 1974.  He was an expert cross-country skier and was associated with the Canadian Army Ski Team as a racer and coach for many years.

    A Memorial Service will be held on 14 December 14 2:30 PM in the St. Andrew's United Church Hall, 1044 Madawaska Street, in Calabogie. Donations may be made to the Renfrew, ON Victoria Hospital.
