    We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer Thomas Percy Ronan, CD (Ret’d), peacefully on Saturday, 22 June 2019 in Ottawa, ON. A resident of Perley-Rideau Health Care Centre, Tom was a WW II Veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy who, including his post-war service, served in the Canadian Forces for a total of 23 years.

    Tom joined the Royal Canadian Navy at age 16 during WWII. After demobilization he joined the Army in the Permanent Force and later transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) as a Firefighter. In the RCAF he served at RCAF Stations  Whitehorse YK, Lac St Denis QC, St Margaret’s NB, Moose Jaw SK, St Hubert  QC and  the RCAF Fire School in Camp Borden ON. After retiring from the Canadian Forces Tom joined the Public Service and retired as the Chief of Airport Crash and Rescue with the Ministry of Transport.

    At Tom’s request there will be no formal funeral service. The family will be hosting a Celebration of His Life in the near future.
