WO Stephan Pepiot will be retiring on 23 Dec 08, after 30+ years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Forces.
WO Stephan Pepiot was born in St-Lambert, South shore of Montreal, Quebec in a family of 4 children. He joined the CF in 1979 and after completing Basic training in St-Jean, he went to Borden for his Fire Fighter course. His first posting was CFB Shearwater from 1979 to 1985. From there, he got posted to HMCS Iroquois from 1985 to 1987. Time came for Stephan to leave Halifax and explore the “Wild West” as he was transferred to CFB Edmonton from 1987 to 1991 and then CFB Winnipeg from 1991 to 1997. In order to become an accomplished sailor, he took a posting to Esquimalt on HMCS Calgary and HMCS Vancouver from 1997 to 2001, and finally was posted to 8 Wing Trenton as a Platoon Chief until now.
He had several UN deployments: WO Stephan Pepiot deployed to Haiti in 1995, in Persian Gulf in 2000, Golan Heights in 2002 and finally in CFS Alert as a Fire Chief during his posting to 8 Wing Trenton.
Stephan, his wife Katie and the family dog plan to remain in Belleville area for a year before moving to Kingston where Stephan will be employed with CFB Kingston Fire Department as a Fire inspector (FR2).
A Depart with dignity retirement luncheon will be held in his honour on the 12 Dec 08 from 1130 hrs to 1500 hrs at a local German restaurant called “Rumours” downtown Trenton.
