WO Robert "Bob" Dawson, CD (Ret'd)

    We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer Robert “Bob” Brennan Dawson, CD (Ret’d) peacefully at the Campbell River, BC Hospital on 22 September 2002 at the age of 74.

    Bob was born in Leger Corner, NB. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers and had a long career serving in Korea, Egypt, Chilliwack, BC, and Gagetown, NB. He was a heavy equipment operator. Following his retirement as a Warrant Officer, Bob worked in Boston, Massachusetts and Phoenix, Arizona as a crane operator. He retired in Calgary, Alberta, where he owned and operated a driving school for several years. In 1997, Bob made Campbell River his home.

    Bob was Past President of both the Korea Veteran's Association (KVA) and the Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary, AB; a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #137 Cranbrook BC; and a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Branch #3097 in Campbell River.

    A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on 27 September at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch# 137, Campbell River, 301 - 11th Avenue. Donations may be made to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. {gdJan2017dc} [zpp, zsp]
