We regret to advise of the death of Warrant Officer René Haché, CD (Ret’d) of Chilliwack BC on 30 June 2021 at the Chilliwack Hospital at age 79 years.

Born in La Tuque QC, René served a full career in the Canadian Military Engineers as a Combat Engineer. He was also a Parachutist and Combat Diver Supervisor having achieved his Supervisor qualification in 1975. During his military career, Rene served in all our combat engineer field units in Chilliwack BC, Petawawa ON, Valcartier QC, Camp Gagetown NB and Lahr Germany. He also served in the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack as an instructor.

After retiring from the Canadian Forces, Rene stayed in Chilliwack and pursued a second career with Corrections Canada as a Corrections Officer.  He maintained an active life with a recreational property and a boat in the Salmon Beach area of Barkley Sound and spent a lot of time on the ocean.
