WO Mann, CD
At the age of 19, Warrant Officer Mann Joined the Canadian forces on 12th August 1984 and attended recruit school in Winnipeg, MB on 13th August that same year. He completed his MSE OP QL3 15 February 1985 and transferred to Electrical Generating Systems Technician.
On 14 August 1985 he completed EGS tech at CFSME in Chilliwack, BC and was posted to CFB Comox on 19th August 1985. He completed the EGS Tech QL5 in June 1987 and was promoted to Corporal in August 1987. On the 31 August 1987 to 24th February 1988, Cpl Mann completed a tour of CFS Alert, where he received the SSM & Alert Bar.
Cpl Mann was posted to CC NICS Det Debert, NS, on the 1st June 1988 and on July 15th 1994 he was posted to CFB Cold Lake, AB. He completed another 6 Month Tour of CFS Alert from the 25 April to 26 October 1995, and later posted to 1 ACT 4 ESR Edmonton AB August 1996.
From July 1997 to January 1998, Cpl Mann completed a tour in Visoko, Bosnia with CCCIBH Infantry Battle Group, and from May 1999 to Dec 1999 completed another tour in Pristina, Serbia with Task force Kosovo where he received the FmrYugoBar and KFOR Bar respectively.
On the 1st December 1999 Cpl Man was promoted to Master Corporal and on the 1st July 2001 to Sergeant. Shortly after in July 2001, Sgt Man was posted to CFB Trenton, ON, and completed a tour in the Middle East with TF SWA-CC130 TE from February to July 2002 to receive the SWASM Bar.
On the 11th July 2005 Sgt Mann was posted to CFB North Bay and was promoted to Warrant Officer on the 1st January 2006 and took the position of Utilities Supervisor. WO Mann is retiring after 25 plus years service. He and his wife, Joann Lois, and his son Owen Scott are moving to Comox, BC for their future endeavours.
