He also served with 25 Sp Sqn as an Armoured Engineer Operator and finished his time at 2 CER as the Regimental Training NCO in RHQ.
WO Plamondon deployed to Bosnia in 1998 as a Fd Sect member. In 2005 he deployed to Afghanistan as a Fd Sect 2IC, where he crew commanded a LAV III. His time at 2 CER ended in July 2009 after 14 yrs when he was posted to Canadian Forces Joint Head Quarters as the J3 Operations NCO in Kingston Ontario.
His posting to Kingston only lasted three years and was full of eye-opening experiences for a Sergeant coming from a combat unit. He was part of a Higher Staff Headquarters for two years which was responsible for the deployment and staffing of the DART and NEO organisations. In January 2010 he deployed with the DART to Haiti. He was also part of the stand-up of 1 Cdn Div HQ. Upon his promotion to Warrant Officer in July 2011, he was posted to The Royal Military Collage of Canada as a Divisional Warrant Officer. WO Plamondon was posted back home to 2 CER in the summer of 2012 as the Operations WO in 23 Fd Sqn.
Returning to 2 CER allowed him to get back into regimental life. This included planning exercises, courses, and organizing tasks between both Fd Tp’s within 23 Fd Sqn. After a long year with 23 Fd Sqn he was assigned to the newly created 26 Counter IED Sqn as the first EROC Tp WO. He was then sent to 4 ESR to attend the EROC Section Commander’s course to enhance his skills as the EROC TP WO. For the next year he mentored his Tp Commander and his Troops on the tactic and implementation of the Tp. The Sqn was then reorganized a year later and he became the Sqn Quartermaster Sgt for the Sqn. He stayed in that position for the next 8 months prior to being posted to JPSU.[zkj]
