    We regret to advise of the death of William Lawson “Bill” Nicoll in Ottawa on 12 October 2012 at the age of 86 years.

    Bill was born in Prince George, BC and raised in Melville, SK.  He was a veteran of the Second World War who served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in Canada and was involved in the building and maintenance of the Alaska Highway linking Prince George, BC to Alaska.  After demobilisation, and relying on his natural capacity for languages, he joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, eventually going to work for the Department of National Defence (Special Branch) as a civilian communications analyst in Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Ladner, and CFS Masset, BC. He retired in Ottawa in 1984.

    Funeral service will be held on 18 October at 2:00 PM in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.  A celebration of life will follow the interment. Donations may be made to an animal welfare charity of one’s choice. {gdMar2017dc} [zsd, zsp]
