We regret to advise of the death of Staff-Sergeant Philip J Cyr, CD (Ret’d) of Pine Falls MB on 11 September 2019 at the age of 90 years.
Phillip was born and raised in the mill town of Pine Falls, the oldest of ten children, outliving them all.  He started work as a sheet metal worker in the Abitibi Paper Mill when he was 25 years of age and worked there for 22 years before taking a job as Foreman of Town Maintenance for Pine Falls where he worked for 14 more years.   
Phillip served in 46^th Field Squadron in Pine Falls.  He trained in Shilo MB, Winnipeg MB and Chilliwack BC. After ten years, he retired as a staff sergeant. He was also a member of the Pine Falls Branch #64 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pine Falls Legion at 2:00 PM on 14 September. Donations may be made in Philip's memory to the Sunnywood Manor in Pine Falls.
