S/Sgt William Denzel Yorke (Ret'd)

We regret to advise of the death of Staff Sergeant William Denzel Yorke on 25 April 2011 in Tideview Terrace, Digby NS. Born in Bear River, NS, Denzel served in the Royal Canadian Engineers during World War II. He completed his war service in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant. After the war Denzel operated a taxi service, worked for NS Power and was a fire fighter for 26 years in Cornwallis as well as a volunteer fire fighter in Bear River. He was a Legion member for over 50 years.
Along with a Legion service, Denzel’s funeral was held at the Hillsburg United Church, Bear River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of choice.
