We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Willard Joseph Amero (Ret’d) at the Queen Elizabeth II Halifax, NS Infirmary, on 10 February 2003 at the age of 79 years.

Willard was born in Plympton, NS.  He was a WW II veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Engineers.  After the war, he worked a number of years for Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa in Digby, NS and later for the Canadian Forces Base Cornwallis, in Clementsport, NS from where he retired in 1984. Willard was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Digby Branch #20.

Visitation will take place on 12 February 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will take place at 7:30 PM.  Prayers will follow at 8:00 PM, all in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch Street, Digby.   The funeral service will be held on 13 February at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Plympton, where he was a member.  Willard will be put to rest in the parish cemetery.
