We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Ronald James Lawrence (Ret'd), peacefully on 9 October 2021 at his home in Sutton, ON  at age 76.

Ron was raised in Walkerton and Hanover ON. He joined the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1961 at age 16 with the 10th Intake Sapper Apprentices and undertook his training at Camp Chilliwack BC. After his army service, Ron returned to Ontario and joined Northern Telecom (Nortel) where he worked as an Installation Technician until his retirement in 1993.

Ron and his family moved to Georgina in 1970 and were proud to call it home. Over the years Ron's many interests also included photography, wind surfing and sailing. Ron and his wife Beth bred and showed their Standard Schnauzers for over 30 years under the Schattentier prefix. Founding members of both the Standard Schnauzer Club of Canada and Georgina Kennel Clubs, they held many positions in both clubs.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Memorial donations may be made to the Stronach Cancer Centre, Newmarket ON. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home.
