We regret to advise of the death of Sapper John William Uhrig (Ret’d) of Delta BC on  1 April 2014 at the age of 55 years. 

John enrolled in Burlington ON and served with the Canadian Military Engineers as a Combat Engineer with both Combat Engineer and Basic Parachutist specialties.  His career included postings to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Chilliwack BC, 4 Combat Engineer Regiment in Germany, and 4 Engineer Support Regiment in Gagetown NB. He also deployed to the Former Republic of Yugoslavia in 1992 on UNPROFOR (United Nations Protection Force). John was released from the Canadian Forces in 1994.

John’s funeral was held on 6 April 2022 in Delta BC.
