Spr Ernest John Samuel Flewelling (Ret’d)

    We regret to advise that Sapper Ernest John Samuel Flewelling passed away at the Oromocto Hospital on 13 September 2012 at the age of 92. Born in Grant’s Glen, York County, he was a WW II Royal Canadian Engineer who served with B (RCE) Platoon of the 85th Canadian Bridge Company, RCASC and saw service from 1941 to 1945 in the United Kingdom and in Western Europe. After the war he operated Maple Leaf Construction - a farming and forest operations company. After retiring he ran a strawberry u-pick business. The family had a grave-side committal service at Saint Bridget’s Catholic Church in Gagetown on 18 September followed by a Celebration of his Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 71 in Gagetown.
